YouthINK: Ireland Chapter

Founded in 2022 in Castledermot, Ireland, at Kilkea Castle by Christy Cashman, YouthINK Creative Arts Program for teens is a nonprofit that offers tuition-free workshops led by industry experts in the theatrical arts. The mission of YouthINK is to support the development of the next generation of creative minds by inspiring young creatives, ages 13 to 18, in developing confidence, self-expression, and a unique voice. Built in the High Middle Ages circa 1180, Kilkea Castle with its extensive grounds provides a rich variety of settings for participants to explore and inhabit as visiting artists. Pàdraig J. Dunne and Dr. Mary O’Connor are YouthINK’s creative directors.

Led by a remarkable ensemble of Irish professionals, alongside our outstanding US facilitators, this program promises an exhilarating journey into the realm of artistic expression.

Participants embark on an investigation of all aspects of theatrical production including script writing, casting, acting, directing, filmmaking, animation, costume, hair, and set design. Collaborating in small groups in a fast-paced immersive environment, participants begin with responding to prompts for creative expression and end with their own original performances that take their artistic talents to new heights.

YouthINK Ireland Chapter workshop is scheduled as an annual event.
